Staff Pharmacist Duties

A staff pharmacist, also known as a relief pharmacist, is primarily responsible for overseeing proper pharmacy dispensing techniques as well as establishing good communication with patients. Staff Pharmacist Education Requirements

A staff pharmacist is required to hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a doctorate of pharmacy, which can give them an edge in the hiring process. They will also need to have the proper state licensure by the state of hire, as well as up to five years of retail experience as a pharmacist. Upon hire, a staff pharmacist is required to pass an FBI or Medicare background check, which will approve them for pharmacy work.
