Soliant Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Hospital Staff Pharmacist for a full-time travel opportunity in Sitka, Alaska. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, legality, completeness, and safety

  • Evaluate contraindications, drug interactions, allergies, adverse reactions, and abnormal lab values

  • Provide clear and accurate clinical consultations and recommendations to prescribers

  • Educate patients on medication usage, expected outcomes, and side effects

  • Participate in medication therapy management, chart reviews, and prescription refill processes

  • Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff

  • Maintain pharmacy documentation, quality standards, and timely prescription fulfillment

  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations

  • Contribute to formulary decisions and inventory management

  • Participate in pharmacy-run clinics and health promotion programs

Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the State of Alaska (REQUIRED)

  • Recent and relevant hospital pharmacy experience (REQUIRED)

  • Must have received current influenza vaccination (REQUIRED)

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required

  • Candidates with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and licensure prior to 2003 will be considered if they have at least 3 years of hospital or ambulatory clinic experience

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (REQUIRED)

  • Must be able to review medical records, labs, and therapy plans using deep pharmaceutical knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to calculate dosages and compound medications accurately

  • Ability to work independently, manage critical decisions, and respond swiftly to emergent needs

  • Proficiency with pharmacy-related computer applications

  • High level of professional judgment and adaptability to workflow changes
