Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (Master's Degree preferred)
  • Current Washington State Special Education Teaching License
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and emotional/behavioral disorders
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators
  • Passion for helping students succeed academically and socially
  • Experience working with K-12 students in diverse educational settings

Position Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a school in Elma, WA. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students with varying disabilities, designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that support students' academic, social, and behavioral development. You'll work in a collaborative environment, helping students build the skills they need for success in school and beyond.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, both in small group and individual settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to monitor student progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings, creating goals and strategies that are meaningful and achievable for students
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support students with emotional/behavioral challenges
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records of educational activities and outcomes
  • Ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially
