Special Education Teacher

Position: Full-Time
Grade Levels: 9th – 12th Grade
Caseload: 35 Students

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 9-12 in our resource room and through push-in/pull-out services. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse group of students and be committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support in the resource room for students with disabilities
• Implement push-in and pull-out services to assist students in the general education classroom
• Develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the needs of each student
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are being met
• Track and document student progress, preparing reports as needed for IEP meetings
• Support students in developing academic, social, and behavioral skills
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Special Education teaching certification/license (as required by state)
• Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development, accommodations, and modifications
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
