We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our elementary school team. This full-time position focuses on supporting students with mild to severe disabilities in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.
- Adapt and modify curriculum to support a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Provide direct instruction in academic, social-emotional, and life skills areas.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
- Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate regularly with families to support students' growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certification with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with mild to severe disabilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
