Special Education Teacher

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid MN teaching certification or licensure for Special Education.
  • Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Understanding of individualized instruction, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based interventions. 

Location: White Bear Lake, MN 
Start: 1/6/2025 - 6/9/2025 
Full Time: 40 hours/week 
Caseload: There are 8 students in the program and 2 paraeducators.  
The teacher will be responsible for case management, special education paperwork, and teaching small group math, reading, social skills, and study skills groups/classes; with a focus on self-regulation and self-awareness throughout the day. 
Pay: $30-$40, hourly, dependent on experience

The SPED Teacher will provide specialized instruction, support, and advocacy to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of inclusive education practices, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents/guardians, support staff, and related service providers.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs and abilities of students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and promoting learning.
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technologies to facilitate student engagement and success.
