Special Education (SPED) Teacher 2024/2025 School Year

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year in Chicago, IL. The SPED Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to support student success.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting IEPs as necessary.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Illinois teaching license with Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and best practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
