Job Title: K-3 Special Education Teacher – ASD Support
Location: Somerville, MA

Hours: Full-Time, 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Job Description:

Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate K-3 Special Education Teacher to join a school in Somerville, MA, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate disabilities. This full-time, 30-hour per week position provides a unique opportunity to work with young learners, helping them achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals in a supportive and structured environment.

The ideal candidate will hold an active Special Education teaching license in Massachusetts and be certified in Moderate Disabilities for grades K-3. You will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), work closely with a team of educators, and ensure that each student receives the specialized support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with ASD and moderate disabilities.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students in a K-3 classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, behavior specialists, and other support staff to meet students' needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure success.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that fosters both academic and social development.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior and emotional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teaching License in Massachusetts.
  • Certification in Moderate Disabilities for grades K-3 (Required).
  • Experience working with students with ASD and moderate disabilities (Preferred).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Available to start ASAP and work through June 25th, 2025.
