Special Education Teacher Needed - Rutland, ME Area

Job Title: Special Education Teacher (x2)
Location: near Rutland, ME
Position Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

• Position 1: Life Skills class for students in grades K-1.
• Position 2: Resource class for students in grades 5-8.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students’ academic and behavioral success.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and classroom activities to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.

Requirements:

• Active Maine Special Education Certification (SPED).
• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a K-8 setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Passion for helping students succeed and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
