Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Newington, Connecticut area. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with a range of learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment that promotes student growth and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to develop social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's preferred).
  • Active Special Education certification in Connecticut.
  • Experience working with students with various learning disabilities and behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create and implement effective, individualized teaching strategies.
  • Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to teaching.
