About the Position:
Soliant Education is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (Itinerant Planner) for a full-time, onsite role in Melrose Park, IL, starting in March 2025. The teacher will cover the plan periods for multiple K-5 classrooms, providing support in special education classrooms and working with a dedicated team to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Travel between 3 different elementary schools to provide coverage for special education classrooms during the teacher's plan periods.
• Prepare and implement instructional plans in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Manage and support students in their self-contained special education classrooms.
• Set planning parameters for other teachers, assisting in daily lesson preparation.
• Ensure students receive appropriate instructional support during plan periods.
• Maintain consistency in scheduling and instruction across multiple classrooms throughout the year.

Requirements:

• Valid LBS1 certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in special education, with at least 1 year of experience with elementary-aged students.
• Strong background in K-5 special education instruction and classroom management.
• Ability to travel to 3 different schools daily, all school are within 10-11 mile radius of each other. (Reimbursed for mileage and paid for time driving)
• Previous experience in an itinerant or planning-based special education role is a plus.
• Must be able to work independently, with minimal direct instruction, while ensuring quality and consistency in educational support.

Additional Details:

• This position is in person and does not offer remote work options.
• 30-minute paid lunch daily.
