Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in a variety of settings, including small groups and one-on-one.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure students’ needs are being met.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and strategies as needed to promote success.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and external agencies.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and engagement.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development through differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina teaching certification in Special Education.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Prior experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes, special education laws, and evidence-based teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• A passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and fostering their academic growth.
