Special Education Teacher DASI Classroom (Autism Support) needed near Jefferson City, Missouri

We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our DASI (Developmental Autism Support Intervention) classroom, a specialized learning environment for students with Autism who are working below grade level but not on alternative grade level standards. This is a unique opportunity to work with a small group of students who benefit from both support and independence in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Provide specialized instruction tailored to the academic and behavioral needs of students with Autism.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure students' success in both specialized and general education settings.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment focused on building both academic skills and social-emotional competencies.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical K-12 Special Education Certification.
• Experience working with students with Autism and/or related social/emotional and communication needs.
• Strong skills in classroom management, behavior intervention, and individualized instruction.
• Collaborative, patient, and creative approach to teaching students with diverse needs.
