Job Posting: Special Education Elementary School Teachers

Position: Special Education Elementary School Teacher
Number of Openings: 2 (1 position is for a Maternity Leave)
Grade Levels: K-5th
Specialization: ILC (Self-Contained)

Start Date & Term:

1. Opening 1: ASAP – January 31, 2025
2. Opening 2: ASAP – June 18, 2025

Workday:
Full-time positions
7 hours paid, 30 minutes unpaid lunch
Monday-Friday (7.5-hour total shift)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide instruction and support in a self-contained ILC classroom setting for K-5th grade students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support student success.
• Create a positive, structured learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Washington State Teaching Certification with Special Education endorsement.
• Previous experience in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to changing needs.
