Greenville, NC: Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Soliant has partnered with a client in the area of Greenville, NC (1.5 hours from Raleigh, NC and from Jacksonville, NC) to place a full-time teacher of visually impaired students. 

There is a current opening, as well as one for the upcoming school year. 

The instructor will be working with approximately 20 students, providing assistance with Braille, and teaching from both an adaptive and general curriculum. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assess classroom environment and implement necessary changes to improve quality of communication between visually impaired students and their teachers/classmates
  • Evaluate and modify instructional resources to fit the needs of  the student’s background, degree of disability, and learning style
  • Maintain ongoing contact with parents to assist them in the development of a realistic understanding of their child's abilities, progress, and future goals
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports for student

Applicants must have a valid teacher license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in order to start.
