Seeking a dedicated professional to provide specialized educational support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a K-12 setting. This full-time position is based in Brewster, WA, for the 2025-2026 school year and involves an itinerant role between campuses, allowing for a diverse and impactful teaching experience.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proficiency in Braille
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with K-12 students
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with staff, families, and support teams
Location: Brewster, WA
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments
- Provide direct instruction in the use of assistive technologies and adaptive materials
- Create a personalized learning plan that addresses each student's unique needs
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Engage with families to support student development and maintain effective communication
