Remote Elementary Special Education Teacher - Lexington KY Virtual Learning Specialist

Position Details

• Full-time position (35-37.5 hours weekly)
• Elementary focus (grades K-5)
• Resource room and inclusion support model
• Typical caseload of 45-55 students
• Emphasis on early literacy and mathematics intervention

Core Responsibilities

• Create and implement IEPs aligned with Kentucky educational standards
• Develop and deliver specialized instruction in foundational academic skills
• Provide virtual small group and individual instruction sessions
• Collaborate with general education teachers on appropriate accommodations
• Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings with educational teams and families
• Design engaging digital learning activities for young learners
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of student progress and services

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education
• Active Kentucky special education teaching license
• Minimum 2 years of elementary special education experience
• Knowledge of evidence-based literacy and mathematics interventions
• Experience with virtual instruction preferred but not required
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication abilities with both children and adults
• Creativity in designing engaging virtual learning experiences
