Remote Special Education Teacher for Virtual Learning Environment - Lansing MI - K-5 Resource Room

VocoVision is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our innovative virtual instruction team serving students in Lansing, Michigan. As a leader in teletherapy and virtual special education services, we connect qualified educators with students who need their expertise, regardless of location barriers.
Position Details

• 37.5 hours per week (typical school hours)
• Elementary resource room support (K-5 students)
• Manageable caseload of approximately 45-55 students
• Primarily supporting students with mild to moderate learning disabilities
• Virtual instruction through our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for virtual students
• Create engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with state standards and IEP goals
• Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection on student achievement
• Collaborate with general education teachers on appropriate accommodations
• Facilitate virtual small group and one-on-one instruction sessions
• Maintain accurate documentation for all student interactions and interventions
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings with parents, administrators, and other team members
• Provide resource support for students in general education classrooms

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field
• Active Michigan special education teaching license
• Minimum 2 years of school-based special education experience
• Experience with IEP development and implementation
• Proficiency with virtual teaching tools and educational technology
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet workspace

Technology Requirements

• Computer with webcam and headset capabilities
• High-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload)
• Ability to navigate virtual learning platforms and digital resources
