A school district in Bellwood, IL is actively seeking a Special Education Teacher to join the team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized instruction plans for students with various disabilities to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction to students with disabilities in inclusive and resource settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students' needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to provide appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Conduct ongoing assessment of students' progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and IEP meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- State licensure or certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching students with disabilities
- Knowledge of special education law and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
