Albuquerque NM Virtual Special Education Teacher - Elementary Autism Specialized Support

VocoVision is recruiting a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide virtual specialized support for elementary students with autism in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our innovative teletherapy platform connects qualified educators with students who need specialized instruction from the comfort and security of familiar environments.
Position Details

• 35-37.5 hours per week virtual instruction
• Elementary focus (grades K-5)
• Specialized support for students with autism spectrum disorders
• Smaller caseload (approximately 40 students) due to intensity of needs
• Combination of direct instruction and consultative support

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized virtual learning experiences aligned with IEP goals
• Utilize evidence-based practices for teaching students with autism
• Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans as needed
• Provide guidance on visual supports and structured learning strategies
• Collaborate with school-based teams to ensure consistency across environments
• Conduct regular progress monitoring and data collection
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and parent consultations
• Support the implementation of assistive technology and communication systems

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education
• Valid New Mexico special education teaching license
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with students with autism
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for autism spectrum disorders
• Experience with virtual teaching platforms preferred
• Strong understanding of behavior management strategies
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to build rapport with students in a virtual environment
