Position: Speech-language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Opelousas, Louisiana. This full-time position involves working directly with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential support for a diverse K-12 caseload. As an SLPA, you will be instrumental in delivering clinical services to help students improve their speech, language, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to the supervising SLP for a caseload of approximately 50 students, across grades K-12.
- Assist with clinical services as directed by the licensed SLP to ensure quality and continuity of care.
- Manage routine administrative tasks including paperwork, meeting scheduling, clinical records maintenance, and preparation of materials.
- Participate in Annual Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings in alignment with requirements set by the licensing board and with supervisor approval.
- Stay current with best practices by engaging in continuing education experiences and professional development opportunities as assigned by the supervising SLP.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Louisiana.
- Prior experience in a K-12 setting is a plus, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
