Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team in Florence, KY. This full-time, on-site position will provide essential healthcare services to students and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy school environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health and well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
Administer medications and treatments to students following physician orders and district policies.
Monitor students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) and ensure necessary accommodations are in place.
Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and follow up on referrals.
Maintain accurate student health records, including immunization records and emergency contact information.
Work with school staff to create individualized health plans for students with special medical needs.
Educate students and staff on health topics like disease prevention, wellness, and healthy habits.
Collaborate with parents and healthcare providers to ensure continuous care for students with ongoing health conditions.
Contribute to the development of emergency response plans for the school.
Ensure compliance with health regulations and district policies.

Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with children with special needs or chronic health conditions.
Familiarity with school health screening processes and state health requirements.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
