Engage in a rewarding opportunity to support K-12 students in their educational journey through specialized therapeutic services. This part-time position is located in Joliet, IL, within a dynamic school environment where you will play a crucial role in enhancing students' abilities and ensuring their active participation in classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate students' engagement in classroom activities, focusing on fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills.
- Modify tasks and environments to align with individual student needs, promoting better learning outcomes.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing as required, delivering insightful assessments and reports.
- Collaborate with educational staff to develop and maintain IEP objectives and accommodations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and peers regarding students’ developmental progress and necessary support areas.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for an Illinois state license in Occupational Therapy.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities to adapt to diverse classroom environments.
