New Job Opportunity: School Sign Language Interpreter
Position: School Sign Language Interpreter
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Joliet, Illinois area | On-campus
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to work 1:1 with a male student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is crucial in facilitating effective communication and supporting the student's educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for a male student with ASD.
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers.
- Support the student's participation in classroom activities and school events.
- Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the student's individual needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working with students with ASD preferred.
- Educational Interpreter Score (EIPA) of 3.5 or above.
- Patience, empathy, and commitment to student success.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
