Remote Special Education Teaching Position | K-12 Virtual Learning Specialist in Iowa City, IA

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our innovative virtual learning program serving K-12 students in the Iowa City area. This remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working from home.

Position Overview:
Working remotely, you will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with families and other educators, and utilize educational technology to create engaging virtual learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction through virtual platforms
- Develop and maintain IEPs for assigned students
- Monitor and document student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations and modifications
- Conduct virtual meetings with parents and staff
- Maintain accurate special education records and documentation
- Participate in professional development activities

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching certification with Special Education endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience in special education
- Proficiency with educational technology and virtual learning platforms
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with IEP development and implementation

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in a virtual or hybrid learning environment
- Knowledge of assistive technology tools
- Bilingual Spanish/English capabilities
