• Job Type: Per Diem (Contract/Flexible Schedule)

• Location: Sacramento, CA 95814 and surrounding areas

• Schedule: On-call, flexible per diem; 2–3 shifts/week typically

• Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage pharmacy operations, including opening and closing

• Oversee daily workflow and supervise pharmacy technicians

• Fill and verify prescriptions accurately

• Provide excellent customer service and patient counseling

• Ensure compliance with state/federal pharmacy regulations

• Travel to various pharmacy sites within the greater Sacramento area

Ideal Candidate

• Has a current part-time schedule or is semi-retired and open to flexible per diem work

• Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and adapts quickly to different teams

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to step in and lead techs as needed

• Reliable, punctual, and confident working independently

• Comfortable commuting across the region

Job Requirements

• Active California Pharmacist License (Required)

• Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience (Required)

• Prior experience opening/closing a pharmacy independently (Required)

• Must be able to supervise technicians confidently

• Willingness to travel across greater Sacramento area

• Software Experience:

• McKesson EnterpriseRx (ERx)

• Rx30

Additional Information

• Mileage reimbursement available for shifts requiring travel over 30 miles one way

• Coverage requests come in regularly, typically 2–3 shifts per week

• Hourly pay rate: $65–$67/hr based on experience

• Ongoing need with multiple client sites
