A respected research hospital in New York, NY is seeking a licensed pharmacist with IV preparation and cleanroom experience. This position offers flexibility for full-time or part-time hours and is ideal for someone with a background in hospital pharmacy and a passion for clinical research.

Position Summary:
This role involves preparing medications safely and accurately, including investigational drugs, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and researchers. The pharmacist must ensure compliance with regulatory standards including those from NYSBP, TJC, NYDOH, DEA, FDA, and NIH.

Job Type: Contract (13+ weeks, Temp-to-Hire)

Schedule Options:

  • Full Time: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Part Time: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
    Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret physician orders

  • Prepare and dispense medications (standard and investigational)

  • Monitor drug therapies and recommend interventions

  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and verify their work

  • Counsel staff and patients on pharmacological therapies

  • Participate in research meetings and support protocol compliance

  • Maintain cleanroom aseptic procedures and ensure inventory accuracy

  • Handle controlled substances and maintain pharmacy records

  • Operate within EHR systems and automated drug dispensing platforms

  • Assist with formulary management and order set building

Requirements:

  • NY Pharmacist license in good standing

  • Minimum 2 years of hospital experience

  • Must have IV and cleanroom experience

  • Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Cerner or Epic)

  • Familiarity with investigational drug dispensing

  • Ability to interpret and follow clinical trial protocols

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research pharmacy experience

  • BCSCP certification or willingness to obtain

  • Experience with automated dispensing machines

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
