Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Chicago, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled RN to provide exceptional post-operative care while experiencing life in one of the most vibrant cities in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery.
- Manage patient pain levels, vital signs, and overall stability.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of PACU or critical care experience (required).
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
- PALS certification (preferred).
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: Flexible, based on availability.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential for extensions.
- Shift: Variable shifts, including potential weekends and on-call rotations.
