Position: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Classroom: Self-Contained, Elementary Level
Student Caseload: 13 Students
Classroom Support: 2 Paraprofessionals
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025 school year. As a self-contained classroom teacher, you will work with 13 elementary-aged students, providing personalized educational support to help them succeed and thrive. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students while working alongside a team of supportive paraprofessionals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education (required).
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience in self-contained classrooms (preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for working with elementary-aged students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student.
- Provide specialized instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom management and student support.
- Monitor and assess student progress through regular evaluations.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
- Maintain communication with parents, administrators, and other school staff to ensure students' needs are being met.
