Soliant is seeking a dedicated and qualified School-Based Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional services to students in our district near Baltimore, MD. As a School-Based OT, you will play a vital role in supporting students' development and independence by assessing and addressing their unique needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions to help students achieve their educational goals and participate fully in classroom activities.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to implement strategies that support students' success in the school environment.
- Provide direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions based on students' needs and goals, utilizing creative and engaging activities to enhance learning and skill development.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, assessments, and therapy sessions.
- Advise and educate school staff, parents, and caregivers on techniques and modifications to support students' occupational therapy goals in various settings.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of occupational therapy and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school-based or pediatric setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to working with students and their families.
