We are currently hiring a skilled Pathologist Assistant for a travel position in Providence, Rhode Island. This is a great opportunity to work in a well-respected healthcare facility and contribute to patient care by supporting pathology services.

Position Details:

• Location: Providence, RI

• Position: Pathologist Assistant

• Assignment Type: Travel Contract

• Start Date: ASAP

• Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extensions)

• Shift: Days, Monday through Friday (occasional weekends if needed)

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under the supervision of a pathologist

• Assist in post-mortem examinations including evisceration and dissection

• Maintain specimen integrity and ensure proper labeling and documentation

• Photograph specimens and maintain digital records

• Collaborate with pathology and laboratory teams to ensure timely and accurate processing

• Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines

Requirements:

• Certification by the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants (AAPA) or eligible

• Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program

• At least 1-2 years of experience preferred

• Familiarity with grossing a wide range of specimen types

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
