A top-tier hospital in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Travel CVOR Registered Nurse to join their cardiovascular surgical team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while exploring a vibrant city known for its southern charm and strong medical community.

Assignment Details:

  • Location: Birmingham, AL

  • Position: Travel Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) RN

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential to extend

  • Shift: Days, 4x10s or 5x8s, with on-call rotation

  • Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care during cardiovascular surgeries including open-heart and thoracic procedures

  • Collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, and surgical techs to ensure high-quality patient outcomes

  • Maintain and operate specialized CVOR equipment

  • Assist with pre-op prep and post-op patient handoff

  • Follow sterile techniques and hospital protocols to ensure patient safety

Requirements:

  • Active RN license in Alabama or compact state

  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience

  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)

  • Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating preferred

  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills

  • EMR experience preferred (Epic or Cerner)
