I’m currently working with a fantastic school near Washington, Maine, that is looking for an exceptional Special Education Teacher to join their team. About the Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), working closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure that students receive the best possible instruction and accommodations. Your goal will be to help each student reach their full potential, and you’ll be supported by a dedicated team and school administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique learning needs.
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and interventions to support student success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to track and support student progress.
- Execute positive behavior support plans to encourage student growth and development.
- Supervise and provide guidance to educational technicians in the classroom.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education.
- Be a champion for inclusion and ensure that students feel valued and empowered in the classroom.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s preferred).
- Maine State Certification in Special Education with a 282 Endorsement.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities is a plus.
- A strong commitment to collaboration, communication, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
