**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This role will focus on teaching 6th-8th grade students with moderate to severe disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in special education, a deep understanding of individual needs, and the ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Create and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' unique needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet their evolving needs.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and development.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and strategies for student success.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
**Qualifications:**
- Valid California Teaching Credential with a Special Education Authorization or equivalent.
- Experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities at the middle school level.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of each student.
