Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Special Education Teacher for a Middle School Resource Language Arts classroom. The position is onsite, Monday through Friday, from 8:35 AM to 4:35 PM. You will work with a caseload of 35 students with Specific Learning Disabilities in Reading, and this number is expected to decrease as additional support is onboarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and implement engaging and effective classroom lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Specific Learning Disabilities in Reading.
  • Serve as a case manager, including planning for and participating in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings.
  • Collect and analyze data on student progress towards IEP goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student grades and goal progress.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to ensure student success and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with school staff to modify instructional strategies and support student learning effectively.

Requirements:

  • TX Certification for Middle School required.
  • Experience in special education, particularly with students having Specific Learning Disabilities in Reading.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to create and modify instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Proficiency in managing a classroom and implementing behavior management strategies.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
