We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team.

Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. You will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing environment that promotes success for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to assessments and evaluations.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid North Carolina teaching License in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
