Job Description:

We are seeking a committed Special Education (SPED) Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year in Oneonta, NY. The SPED Teacher will be responsible for providing personalized instruction and support to students with special needs, helping them succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet each student’s unique needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
• Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to IEPs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to setting student goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Valid New York state teaching license with Special Education certification
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws and best practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
