Elementary Special Education Teacher - Easton, MD

This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of elementary students. 
Job Details: 

• Position: Special Education Teacher 
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:30-4:00)
• Caseload: 5-10 students 
  • Age of Students: PK-1
• Classroom Setting: Combination of general education and special  education, dependent on student IEPs 
• Para Support: Yes 
• Start Date: 8/23/2024-6/13/2025

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students enrolled in the Special Education program.
- Provide direct instruction and support to high school students with significant behavioral challenges, fostering academic and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including behavior specialists, therapists, and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote positive outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, behavior interventions, and communication with parents and stakeholders.

Requirements:
- Valid Maryland teaching license with Special Education certification.
- Experience working with students with significant behavioral challenges preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to establish rapport with students, families, and colleagues while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
