Job Summary:
As a COTA, you will play a crucial part in supporting licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) by participating in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of students with various physical and developmental challenges. Your collaboration with our team will involve assisting in the development and execution of treatment plans, delivering therapy services, and closely monitoring client progress. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the field of occupational therapy and positively influence the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in conducting assessments, supervised by licensed OTs, to identify physical and developmental challenges.
• Support the creation of individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, client goals, and OT guidance.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed OTs, encompassing occupational therapy services tailored to student needs.
• Apply various tools and techniques to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide support and education on occupational therapy matters.
• Assist in monitoring student progress, documenting treatment outcomes, and reporting findings to licensed OTs.
• Stay abreast of advancements in occupational therapy through engaging in professional development activities.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or a related field.
• Valid and active state certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA).
• Preferred previous experience working as a COTA or in a related role.
• Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques used in occupational therapy.
• Ability to work under the supervision of licensed OTs and collaborate effectively within a team.
